what to wear: valentine’s dinner at home
Depression, recession, whatever you want to call it — this year you’re staying in for a romantic Valentine’s dinner. If you have kids, lock them up in their rooms with DVDs galore and take-out (you don’t want Child Services visiting you so I’m kidding about the take-out.)
You want to wear something comfortable, sexy and wrinkle-proof since hopefully it will find itself on the floor in your bedroom. <wink> I love this well-priced Maggy London ruched dress that comes in a Valentine’s red. All you need is a drop pendant or this gold tiered disc necklace for accessories.
Since this is the day to make a little extra effort to wear something pretty underneath, make sure you wear something that you feel beautiful and sexy in. There are some great Valentine’s bra and panty sets, sexy garters, and even some comfy Hanky Pankys (shown) from BareNecessities.com. Or you could surprise your sweetie with a sweet chemise from Eberjey later on.
But the outfit(s) aren’t complete without shoes. And I show some crazy options just for fun (again, lock your kids up.)
- The Fantasy (aka Hooker) shoe
, $60 at Zappos. (better be!! Where else would you wear it)
- L.A,M.B. Slingback 5” Heel Sandal
,$355 at Nordstroms. At home, you don’t have to walk in them — just perfect!
- Michael Kors sandals
, $204 at Zappos. Love the nude heel with the red dress and it’s cute with the lingerie too!
So…which shoe would you wear if you were spending Valentine’s at home?
