what to wear: stay-at-home mom style

This blog post is for all you hard-working, amazing women who stay at home to care for your children. I have received lots of requests and questions from you about what types of items to have in your wardrobe.
Your Wardrobe Trauma:
Looking stylish even when you’re running your kids to school.
Conditions To Be Aware Of:
1. Your wardrobe options need to be washable and easy to replace just in case you find yourself fingerpainting in the afternoon.
2. No dangly jewelry or you may find yourself in the real emergency room.
3. Oh, and not too expensive because you have college and weddings to save for. (!!)
Wardrobe 911’s Style Solution:
Various tees in multiple colors. For $9 each, you can get every color!
Various dark wash jeans (these make you look more sleek and up the style quotient — an investment that is worth every penny.) These are by Chip + Pepper.
A cute, long cardi that is still casual but adds polish for when you’re running out. This one by C&C is designed by moms!
Fun flats that you can run around in yet still wear out to dinner with a black dress and feel put together.
A hands-free bag that totes all mom-neccessities. Another option for $9 is at Target.

I love this look (and would be practical for me), but was wondering if the drapey style cardigan is a bad move for an hourglass? If so do you have other suggestions?
I saw a cardigan with a hood like this at Nordstrom and I am just wondering if it works for rectangles and also if it is age appropriate for 40+ mom?
The cardigan is great for all silhouettes except for triangles. For hourglasses, be sure to wear a form-fitting top underneath to show off your waist! Splendid makes a similar one that is in stores now which is age-agnostic.
