what to wear: holiday dress for the rectangle figure

holiday dress rectangle body type

Today we feature two dress options for the rectangle figure. If you're shoulders and hips align and your waist is not really defined, then you have a rectangle body. Below are some tricks to use to help you look more proportioned and look great.

Look for a medium to heavy-weight fabric when shopping for a party dress. These types of fabrics will create a nice line for your silhouette.

Option #1 features the Trina Turk sequin dress. This sheath dress is fitted and nips in a the waist, which is important because we want to see your waist. If your tummy bothers you, then a pattern will camouflage that. A scoop neckline looks great on your body type because it brings the eye to your collar bone. Add fun, blue sparkly pointy toe pumps, these will elongate your legs. If you don't want that much color going on, opt for these black heel booties. Add the finishing touches with blue dangly earrings and a black convertible shoulder/clutch bag.

Option #2 is a black BCBG blouse sleeve dress. The skirt of the dress is so flattering and follows the curve of your body. If you have broader shoulders, make sure the set in sleeve fits appropriately and is not too tight. A wide v-neck looks exceptional on your body type, plus the wrapped bodice styling is an added bonus. The elastic waist is perfect for adding dimension and balance to your silhouette. Throw on some colorful heels like these Badgley Mischka pumps. Incorporate some fun jewelry like this House of Harlow triangle necklace and black stud earrings. The black convertible shoulder/clutch bag also looks so cute with this outfit!
