what to wear: ceo casual – men

ceocasualBeing on the West Coast, dress codes at work tend to be a little more casual; especially with the high-tech Silicon Valley firms.  So how do you dress if you are a CEO or top executive and want to bridge the gap between engineer-ultra-casual and corporate-professional?

Here’s a look that will help you come across as a confident leader; together enough for corporate visitors and casual enough for whiteboarding with the team.

Wear a flat-front wool-blend Boss tan pant with a simple charcoal cashmere crewneck.

Add a Burberry plaid sportcoaticon which is a lightweight silk/wool blend – perfect for the transitioning weather. Try these Bruno Magli loafers which are similar in color to the pant and create a long lean line – especially nice if you want to look taller.

The Xemex watch really says it all.  It’s casual enough for work and play yet the design and price-tag of it alone is in it’s own league.  Designed by Xemex founder Ruedi Külling, these watches were specifically created so that you can read them without your glasses.  It’s a special club that recognizes and knows these watches – perfect for CEOs.

This post is right on. Not only is the outfit good, but abides by all the Casual Power rules. I found the book Casual Power very helpful, equally for men & women.

Thanks Carissa! I have not read that book. What are the Casual Power rules?
