Hi Teresa,
Bras with straps that you can adjust the entire length of the straps work fine for me at 5'1" with a bust that is relatively high on my torso. However, bras that have cute straps in the front and are only adjustable on the back half of the straps rarely work for me. I would love petite size bras if petite=short. If petite also means small cup size, that would be a problem. Petite bras with bands from 32 (or even 30) up and cup sizes to at least D -- or even better, at least DD -- in each band size would be fantastic. I would assume that the same would be true for women w/ the opposite issue from mine.

Ah yes! The low bust and long torso equals major fit problems with spaghetti straps and bras. It's halters or bust!

Perhaps Spanx will hear our collective cry and create a bra where you can select your straps: petite, tall or avg.

I also have clients who have educated me on the fact that bra straps can be too short and they need more length because they are long torsoed and their center bust is low on their body.

Never knew.

since I'm 5'8 (my mom and sister are 5'1) I honestly never thought that there should be petite bras since I figured you could adjust the straps. But now Karen, you have me convinced! I wonder how many other petite gals out there would like such a bra.

great outfit for hot weather -- love that the dress isn't tight but still looks like it won't blow upwards in the wind! a quick caution re: bra-llelujah. spanx says that the straps self-adjust, but this is only true if there's enough distance between your shoulders and the girls to pull the straps and add some tension. at 5'1" i find that the bra-llelujah bras just don't work, which bites because they are super comfy otherwise and are completely smooth under clothes. if you find you usually need to shorten bra straps quite a bit, bra-llelujah might not work for you.

I like the idea of wearing the 525 America cardi from the post on summer intern wear with this since it's long and follows the line of the dress.

For bras, are you referring to halter necklines? If so, any convertible bra (where you can adjust the straps various ways) will work so the straps don't show. Let me know if that's not what you mean!

Sorry and I love the idea of the bra. Is there a bra which works for tops which are close to the neck and would show the bra, because nothing is covering them up?

I love that outfit. Can a 40+ wear it also on the street? What kind of cardigan/sweater would look good for the still always freezing girl?

Thank you.
