what to wear: alice inspiration
One of our memorable childhood Disney characters, Alice, is now influencing the fashion trends. Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland will be released on March 5th and part of the buzz is the charming spring collection it inspires. Disney Consumer Products has teamed up with savvy designers such as Tom Binns, Sue Wong and Swarovski, as well as Urban Decay and OPI to create a fabulous line of clothes, jewelry and make-up.
These featured dresses are from the “Alice in Wonderland’ Collection, which embodies Alice’s soft and feminine side and the Red Queen’s regal qualities.
- Sue Wong Appliquéd Satin & Mesh Sheath Dress inspired by the Red Queen (on the left)– this pretty black and silver fitted dress flatters the inverted triangle and hourglass figures. The ornate design on the bottom half will attract attention to your lower half so keep that in mind if you have larger hips. Pair it with the Via Spiga ‘Liv’ Caged Sandal and MARC JACOBS ‘Eugenie’ snakeskin embossed leather clutch.
- Sue Wong Beaded Lace & Chiffon Dress inspired by ‘Alice’ (on the right)– this dress showcases a modern Alice with its black lace bodice yet it maintains her youthful and feminine qualities with the pink chiffon skirt. This dress works well on a triangle body type since its draws your eye up to your shoulders. This peep toe platform Betsey Johnson pump adds a feminine charm, and the Carlo Fellini Rhinestone Bracelet clutch adds some sparkle.
Make sure you also look at ‘Alice in Wonderland’s whimsical Jewelry and Cosmetic Collection.
- Red Queen Alice in Wonderland Heart Necklace by Tom Binns for Disney Couture or perhaps your cup of tea is Swarovski’s Tea Party necklace (not shown).
- Disney’s Alice in Wonderland inspired Book of Shadows Palette by Urban Decay Cosmetics –this limited edition has already sold out from most online retailers. An alternate eyeshadow collection that includes 10 top selling shadows is Urban Decay’s Urban Ammo Eye Palette (not shown).
- OPI is offering a four limited-edition Nail Lacquer in shimmery and glittery shades.
You can view these “Alice in Wonderland’ collections at select Bloomingdales which will feature special window displays and in-store exhibits in early March. The stores include Beverly Center, CA, Century City, CA, San Francisco, CA, South Coast Plaza, CA, Aventura, FL and Short Hills, NJ.
Enjoy the adventure down the rabbit hole!
