what to wear: a night out in vegas
I must admit this post is a little selfish as I’m hoping it will inspire me as I pack for my vacation in Vegas. I have always loved getting all dolled up for nights out and what better place than Las Vegas to take my evening style to the next level? Let’s not forget that Vegas is essentially an oasis in the middle of a very hot and dry desert, even at night light, breezy fabrics are essential for keeping your cool. Unless you plan on calling it a night early (that’s 3 a.m. in Vegas), a great pair of heels that are sexy and comfortable will be your number one accessory when watching the sun rise over the strip.
Dress: This new take on the LBD is subtly sexy with the zipper detail, but is still simple enough that you can add interesting accessories without getting too busy. The drawn-in waist creates definition and makes the legs look longer, perfect for a rectangle shape.
Earrings: Accessories that double as disco balls, enough said! These add an element of fun and whimsy to the look without being kitschy. Also the length of the earrings draws attention to the neck rather than hiding it under layers of necklaces.
Purse: The long chain strap on this purse makes it versatile enough to wear as a cross-body or shoulder bag. The long silver chain details are pretty and a little punk at the same time. Although the purse is slim it is still large enough to fit all of your necessities for the night.
Shoes: These shoes were made for Vegas, and there’s no doubt they would be lucky in the casinos! The metallic finish adds sparkle while the platform makes the heels much more wearable. The wider straps also ensure you’re feet won’t be slipping and sliding around.

Love this outfit! I wish you had posted this a couple months ago, before my night out in Vegas.
Thanks Bettina, at least you’ll know what to pack for your next trip!
I have this dress. How can I wear to work during the day and then out at night?
The key to wearing this in the office is the length. If it hits you too high above the knee I would say it might be a little too risque for most offices. If the length is ok I would make it more office-friendly with a blazer and solid colored heels (preferably black or tan), some offices might also have policies on stockings. The detailing on the dress almost acts as jewelry during the day, but at night you can add a bold cocktail ring or earrings, just throw them in your purse before you leave in the morning!
