It's here!!! The folks that changed some paradigms on how women use and apply makeup are now introducing another beauty revolution in skincare. Yup, Bare Escentuals has now created a bareMinerals skincare line of cleansers, moisturizers and treatments that are filled with their patent-pending RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex.
The ActiveSoil Complex is extracted from virgin soil and contains 72 essential macro and micro minerals that they claim will dramatically improve the appearance of skin because it increases cell turnover and provides antioxidants at levels significantly greater than blueberries or pomegranates.
Although we can certainly reduce our skin's inflammations and increase its appearance by eating fruits and vegetables that are high in antioxidants, I'm not about to start eating dirt.
So, does it work? Is it really worthy of all the hype?
I received the bareMinerals Deep Cleansing Foam and the Purely Nourishing Moisturizer to test out a few days ago. I'm only on day 2 and what I can tell you is that I LOVE the Deep Cleansing Foam — you need just the tiniest bit to work into a lather and it is so smooth and refreshing. I've always used Cetaphil due to my sensitive skin, but after 20 years it's time to say goodbye. The Deep Cleansing Foam is that good.
The Moisturizer is quite good and the antioxidants certainly protect me against some of the environmental hazards, but I'm not crazy about the slight fragrance or the fact that it doesn't have SPF. So, the jury's still out. Besides, it's only been 2 days.
