how to wear: short skirts
If you’re in your 20’s and on a budget, here’s a cute Spring outfit to wear that helps you stylishly navigate the short skirt season.
This tiered ruffle skirt consists of a more drapey cotton fabric which lies flat and doesn’t make the hips look big. When wearing a short skirt, you want to offset the amount of skin shown so it comes across fashion-forward, not overtly sexy. The rule is if you’re wearing a short skirt, you don’t show your cleavage and vice-versa.
On top we add a draped knit vest over a white yoke shirt
to add fluidity to the structured cotton. It gives a more boho vibe which is perfect for the trend-focused 20-something.
Add a cross-body hobo in a golden yellow for a punch of color. The accessories keep it hip – a leather cuff and flat gladiator sandals
. For short skirts, flats subdue the sexiness of showing your gams so it’s a perfect look for weekend, out shopping or a casual date.
And if you’re over 35 and want to try this, you can as long as your legs are in great shape. All you do is trade the ruffled skirt in for something more streamlined – either a straight or aline style.
