how to wear: 90′s trends
Some people love the 90′s others well… not so much. Like it or not the 90′s trends are back in the stores. You might have seen vintage rock shirts or graphic tees, ripped and printed denim, neon, plaid, body con dresses, cropped tops, and booties.
We want to help you avoid looking like the outdated 90′s women, which includes NOT tying the shirt around the waist, to a more modern, put together version.
Start with the bottom first to help you create the outfit. We chose these cropped 7 for all Mankind jeans that have minimal destroying and fading, anymore and it would be too excessive.
Then choose a fun t-shirt like this Sol Angeles wave tee. Pick a plaid shirt to really pull the outfit into a 90′s feel, but wear the plaid shirt over the tee and unbuttoned. Keep the two tops in the same color family so that you don’t end up looking sloppy.
Add some fun Accordion Hoop Earrings and long necklaces! Pull on these Splendid oxford shoes. Throw on a leather biker jacket to complete the look!
Hopefully, you might feel a little more confident in putting an outfit together when encountering these trends when you shop.

What do you think is easier to style … A nude/taupe Oxford (like the one you featured) or a black one with a blue sole? I found a pair today and couldn’t justify buying both colors. The nude/taupe ones had a pink sole. What do you think??
Hi Cynthia!
Take a look at your closet and determine your main neutral colors. Are they mainly black, gray, and white OR brown, olives, and ivory?
Then make a decision based on what colors would go better with the shoes.
For me, I would choose the taupe oxford because more of my wardrobe would go with that color!
If your closest is 50% browns & 50% blacks then you could justify buying both pairs
Hope this helps!
Stef
Oh gosh now that you’ve said this, I’m more of a black, grey and white. I went with the taupe because I thought it would blend easier. I don’t have many browns or olives because I tried but it just doesn’t look well on me. Uh I don’t know anymore!! :p
Don’t worry!!! Taupe looks great with black and whites
It will add some variety in your closet anyways!
I love the oxford shoes, but what do wear with them – socks or just bare feet?
