how to wear: 15 items, 20+ looks – part 4

What 15 items should you have in your wardrobe this Spring that you can create a multitude of outfits from?  Well, hopefully this ‘how to wear’ series has helped you build a cool wardrobe — based on the current trends of the season — without looking like you’re trying too hard. Dressing well can be effortless!  Here are the last three items:

13. White pants. Yes, it can be a tough feat to find some white pants that don’t show everything. White jeans are always good but there’s something a little dressier about some stretch cotton pants like these Sanctuary Peace Pants, $98. Just make sure to wear some flesh-toned Hanky Panky’s underneath — no colored panties, okay??

14.  Colorful Tank. Seriously the easiest way to integrate color in your wardrobe is with some beautifully colored tanks that you can wear alone or layered under shirts, blouses and cardigans. Make sure to check out the reasonably priced versions like this Old Navy Rib Knit Tank in yellow, $6.

15. Color blocked or Striped Cardigan. There are lots and lots of options this season but I really like this Pim + Larkin Pop Stripe Cardigan, $79, for it’s price and the colors used.  You can wear all the colors in the sweater plus even add a contrasting pink or violet. This season is all about playing with color so if you’re game, go for it!

As for shoes, the t-straps we showed in Part 3 are the same Bandalino Sandals in white and silver, $59.

Total Looks = 15: 13+ 1, 13+1+15, 13+14+15, 13+14+9, 13+14+12, 13+14+8, 13+5; 13+9+8, 13+14+5; 2+14+15, 2+5+8; 1+2+15, 10+15, 7+14+8, 10+14, plus many more with the jeans!!

With a total of over 40 (47 to be exact) looks – and counting – we went well over generating 20 looks.  There’s enough here for almost two months of unique and different outfits. Add a few more colorful tanks and you can definitely keep things interesting.

  1. I have 2 pairs of Sanctuary pants, one in khaki and another in black. They’re great and comfortable, too. I don’t know if I’d make it through the day in a pair of white pants without spilling something on them, though! :)

  2. Thank you so much for the great series I need a new bag. What would be a good choice? White, off-white, or color? And what shape/style to go with these and summer outfits.

  3. Loved every look from this series. Thank you so much for the great ideas :)

  4. Which cardigan length is most flattering for rectangle? Could I wear a longer style which hits below hip?
