how to wear: 15 items, 20+ looks for spring – part 2

Adding on to our 15 items to have for Spring, here are four more items bringing us to eight thus far. Today I’m showing all solid colors but they all have a twist — they either are bright colored (to make use of the color trend this season) and/or they have a unique detail.

5. Light neutral cotton knit. Having a lightweight knit for those colder days or nights is important. I’m in love with this Marc by Marc Jacobs pointelle top, $149. It has a sexy keyhole detail and wrap style. Wear it with a tank underneath for work or without for after hours.

6. Colorful stretch cotton dress. How many events, bridal showers and weddings are you attending this season? Having a solid colored, cheery dress like this sheath dress by Suzi Chin, $118, is a perfect addition to your wardrobe. Wear it to work with a jacket and simple pumps or with some strappier heels for a daytime wedding.

7. Brightly colored cropped pants. Colored jeans and colored cotton pants are everywhere! Depending on your style, these can work effortlessly in your spring wardrobe. Pair with a neutral colored top or dress mono-chromatically with a similar colored top. These pants are Nordstroms’ Halogen ‘Taylor’ Pants, $69. 8. Light colored jacket. It’s a necessary essential to have a white jacket (or cardigan) in your wardrobe. This Rebecca Minkoff Becky Jacket comes in soft white, $328, and looks great closed, or when open it gives a cool draped look.

For shoes, if you are looking for comfortable yet stylish shoes that work for even the most dastardly feet, try Earthies. These Earthies Veria Too Wedges, $149, have a 3″ heel with a 1″ platform so they are really only 2″ high for your feet.
