how to ruin good clothes: logos

Have you ever been searching for a particular clothing item in a store, say a great gray sweater, only to discover as you pull it out for further inspection that it has a huge logo encrusted with sequins on the front?  Ugh!  I really don’t understand the egos of some designers that think we like to have a perfectly beautiful piece emblazoned with their logo on the front or back…or side.

Dear designers,

Just stop it!

The only time we will buy it is when we see it marked down from $250 to $5 — and that’s only because we won’t mind damaging it when we attempt to take the logo off.  It’s such a shame to see such a beautiful item ruined by your logo.  Thanks Tory Burch for finally listening! All others — you’ve been told.

  1. I could not agree more with this post. These huge logos are really annoying and a major turn off to me. I hate them on all clothes, bags, wallets and shoes! I guess I am used to it with workout clothing, but for anything else it is just so un-cool.

  2. I so agree! Clothing with logos make people look insecure. I also think items, such as the TB sweater in your post, show a real lack of creativity on the designer’s part.

  3. Me too!!! I can’t understand why we should pay to advertise someone elses business.
