I just came back from Disneyland and had a wonderful experience. It is a crazy time of year to go, however, it can still be fun if you plan accordingly, including what to wear. If you are headed there this summer, here is an outfit recommendation to help you look fashionable in a casual and comfortable way. If you are like me, you will be running non-stop from ride to ride. Just remember to get your fast passes for the main attractions so you can avoid the long lines.

The Splendid V-neck pink top is versatile and lightweight for those hot days.  Pair it with the Calvin Klein Crop Cargo Cotton pants that have a mid-rise and include ties to cinch the hems. Finding the right shoe is essential as you will be likely on your feet all day. If you don’t want to sport a tennis shoe look, the Sketchers Active is the perfect choice. The rounded-toe suede mary-jane style is incredibly comfortable and you can even fit your orthotics in them -  I personally own a pair. Another option is the MBT Baridi if you prefer a strap across your foot. Of course, some of you can only wear a sneaker so look for one that has cute colors such as the New Balance 556.

Remember to protect your face with a hat. Juicy Couture’s Annie Floral Floppy is savvy and provides plenty of coverage from the sun. I’ve got a fashion emergency of sorts, it’s ongoing, so I won’t collapse from it!  What would you recommend to someone who works in a lab? I’m 27 and work full-time as a chemist. Half my day is spent in a lab setting where I need to wear pants and closed toes shoes. The other 1/4 is computer work (e.g.  reports and research) and the last 1/4 is spent in meetings where I need to look at least semi-professional. If it helps I’m 5′8″ and an inverted triangle. I’ve also got a full bust (34DD) but am normal sized everywhere else. Help!

We want to thank the readers who participated and shared their touching stories about their mothers.  Here are Stephanie’s inspirational comments.

“A mother’s job is to make her children’s lives better than her own.”  I thought about Mom’s statement as deeply as a 6-year old could. What did she mean?It was a comment she made in passing. She doesn’t even remember saying it. Why would she? She’s been putting my needs before her own since the day I was born – it’s become so second nature to her that when I attempt to thank her for her sacrifices she is taken aback. To her, it isn’t a sacrifice. It’s a way of life.
When she bought me a new car and continued to drive hers past 200,000 miles, she insisted that she wanted to keep hers to “see how far it would go.” When the economy went downhill, and everyone worried about their 401k, she smiled and considered herself lucky not to have lost any money. She had put hers into my law school education rather than a retirement plan.

Looking back, it doesn’t seem rational that a woman who made so many sacrifices could be so happy, but it’s a mother’s way of life. A way of life, a way of sacrifice, and above all – a way of love.

I started with a Zumba class again. I am a 40 year old STAHM with an 8 year old and a very busy almost 4 year old little boy. I need some time for myself and I really enjoy taking Zumba. It is so much fun. My outfit is boring. I want something fun and age appropriate.

I was inspired by this reader inquiry so I went out and tried my first Zumba class. I absolutely LOVED it and felt like dancing the entire day! This is a fitness dance class with a party like ambiance. You learn dance steps such as the merengue, samba,salsa and a  little  hip hop. The dance moves target your entire body including your abs, upper and lower body.
The current Zumba style is streetwear inspired and includes vibrant colored tank tops and cargo pants. This style is geared towards the younger crowd and you can check them out at Zumba Fitness.

It is important to find clothes that let you move and absorb moisture. I am telling you – it is the best cardio workout! Here is an example of  Zumba inspired attire that is age appropriate.

Easter is a lovely time of year to bring families together that celebrate it. One of my favorite parts is watching my boys hunt for Easter eggs.  I also love the excuse to dress up for the occasion and to find a spring ensemble.

The silhouette of this outfit flatters a rectangle body type. The Rectangle Body Type is also known as the “Straight” or “Boyish” figure which can be misleading since it makes you think of someone in their teens. Rectangle Body Types share common characteristics such as an undefined waist, proportioned shoulder and hips and sometimes tummy issues. Rectangles are in luck because most clothing manufacturers design for this body type.

I am sure you have noticed all of the mini dresses. There are so many cute ones but you  have to decide if it is for you. Of course, you always have to keep your body type and personal style in mind.

How short is too short? Well, it depends on your age, how much you’re willing to reveal and your personal style. I have to admit that my hem lines have gotten a little longer throughout the years.

But, if you have great legs, there is one rule in selecting the right length:  With your hands at your sides, if the skirt is shorter than the tips of your index fingers then it’s too short.  You also have to consider navigating sitting down so you’ll want to practice first in front of mirror so you don’t give anyone a peep show — this is not a look for work!

These inspirational cards are made of super-heavy card stock in corresponding colors for you to select from and use. For example, if you are “polished”, then we associate that word with the color teal. If you consider yourself modern, then the color of the card is purple.

Finding the right bridesmaid dress that pleases everyone can be complicated.  Just remember that certain types of materials, such as sateen are going to show every lump and bump. So look for fabrics that are more forgiving so that your bridesmaids feel stylish and comfortable. Here are a couple of options that covers all body types.

Hourglass, Triangle and Inverted Triangle Body Types

Looking for some advice on what to wear to a wedding in Walnut Creek, California in mid March. The wedding is at 3 followed by a cocktail party reception. I am 46, hourglass shape, 5′8″ with about 10 pounds to lose. My colors are warm tones.
