what to wear: to the movies
With temperatures dropping drastically, many people are looking for indoor activities to pass the time. A trip to the movies is an oldie but always a goodie during the Thanksgiving holiday and here we show you a great look for an outing to see the latest blockbuster.
Pair your favorite denim with an embellished tee like this one from J. Crew. The theaters could get nippy, so bring along a soft cardigan to layer over your shirt. This beautiful sweater by Diane von Furstenberg is a luxurious option, but for those looking for a more economical alternative, a chic scallop-edged sweater from Gap works well too.
Complete your look with a long Missoni-esque scarf and a cute flat in a gorgeous pewter color. We’re loving the soft leather crossbody bag that forms to your body and this one by the Sak is perfect for heading out to the movies — especially in carrying your drink and popcorn!

I really like this outfit. But can you explain why you suggest an embellished t shirt? I would think to do something plain b/c the sweater would cover up the embellishment. But that’s why you’re the stylist, right?!!! I wish I had the eye for little details like that. Love the use of the scarf! Would like to see more outfits pairs with scarves like this!

I like the ballet flats but I’m often faced with the same problem. What suggestions do you have for keeping the feet warm when wearing flats like this. I don’t think socks or stockings always look right, but maybe I’m not making the right choice. It’s too cold to go sockless - what do you suggest. I really like the practical nature of this outfit and would love to see more like this.
Thanks!

Hi Teresa,
which Gap hoodie you are referring to. The link does not work.
Thank you.
