Who makes the best white tanks to wear both layered under long v-neck tops and simply on their own, that aren’t sheer so your bra doesn’t show and look nice enough to wear under nice tops?  In other words, the Holy Grail of tank tops?

The *best* non-sheer, long, perfect-for-layering or alone because it covers your bra straps is the 2×1 Tank by Splendid.  Hands down.  Their tanks are made out of a fine ribbed supima cotton that is soft to the touch, thick but not too thick to layer, and long enough to even be worn as a super mini dress (umm- on second thought don’t do the later, okay?)  They come in light colors such as white, vanilla and oatmeal. And because we’re such layering tank aficionados, a close runner up is the Theory Bram scoop neck tank.  New and sophisticated colors are put out each month and I gotta tell ya….these may be on the pricey side but they have the most flattering neckline, are super thin (but not ultra sheer) for layering, and they cover your bra straps so you can wear them alone. They are tough to get online and in-stores because they sell out so fast.  We gals know a good thing when we wear it!
