how to wear: accessorize sweater + pant combo
If you feel like you wear sweaters and pants day-in and day-out, and are frustrated with feeling like you’ve lost your style, this post is for you. A lot of us forget that our accessories can stretch our wardrobes and make them new again. Here’s two ways to upgrade your sweater + pant combo outfits and inject some fun into your style by simply switching out and using the latest and greatest accessories.
The sweater and pant combo in a pretty red and brown:
- Button cowl-neck sweater
(this can be worn shown or buttoned all the way to create a soft cowl)
- High-waisted textured wide-leg pant
Outfit #1
Perfect for the working gal on a budget! By belting the sweater, you’ve immediately added polish and an interesting twist to a classic outfit. The bag is a fun color yet still comes across classic due to its structured shape. Add a brown ankle boot - these are perfect for wearing under pants in the winter months and a nice basic to have in your closet.
- City Style Croc Herringbone Belt, $19.95
- City Style Croc Bag
, $17.47
- Lantern earrings, $29.99
- Via Spiga brown ankle boots
Outfit #2
This one is a little more edgy and great for weekend or a more funky work environment. Wear the bolero open and add a long, funky necklace (or scarf) to create balance. By adding a bold and fun ring and on-trend bootie, you’ve updated the classic sweater/pant combo into something more stylish.
- Charlotte Ronson faux fur bolero
- Modern Vintage bootie
- Kenneth Jay Lane multi-strand necklace
- Faceted glass ring
If you want to learn more about how to accessorize, I’ll be holding a workshop at Bloomingdale’s San Francisco on Saturday, December 13. For further details and to sign up, check back on Friday! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
