what to wear: power walking
Whether you are just starting an exercise program or you’ve been exercising on a daily basis forever, wearing something that you look good in is a good incentive to keep moving. I’m a big fan of power walking three times a week - in my neighborhood there are hills whose inclines you would fear driving a stick shift on and various stairs (over 100 steps) scattered throughout the ‘hood. Every day I take a different route and discover something new. And although I wear about the same thing every time, I’ve discovered that mixing up our workout wear can breathe in a fresh new perspective about staying healthy.
The Nike modern fit pant is great if your inseam is 30″ or under. For all you long-legged beauties, Lucy’s pants come in different lengths and the tall versions go up to a 34.5″ inseam. yahoo!
Wearing a supportive bra is key and this one doesn’t give you the uni-boob look. (Have you ever looked down while working out and thought that??)
Typically, a simple ribbed tank will do in hot weather but if you go in the morning when it can be a bit chilly, try this adorable short-sleeve jacket.
For feet, I’m a big fan of Champion socks because they are super cushiony. For shoes, it’s important to get fitted at a store in case you are an under or over-pronator. The health of your feet is so important, especially when you are hitting the road!
I love my Polar Heartrate Monitor/Watch (at Activa Sports) because I can keep track of my calories burned and miles gone. But, I guess my favorite part of a long one-hour walk in the morning is leaving the iPod at home, hearing the birds sing, and seeing the world wake up. What is your favorite type of exercise and why?

Thanks for remembering us tall girls here! I wish more brands made extended sizes like this.
