what to pack: vacation time + wardrobe 911

The “what to wear traveling in NYC” was such a hit that we’ve received lots of requests from you over the last few days to provide some tips for your upcoming vacations.

Although we can’t address each of you individually (unless you take us along!) look for some upcoming Wardrobe 911 solutions for what to pack for your next vacation or business trip.  We’ll post them in a special place here on the blog for you to reference easily.

And, I am very excited to announce a new product that we will be officially launching April 1 that will show you how to dress and develop the perfect wardrobe for your body type!  You’ll get a sneak peak within the next week and will be able to take advantage of our special pre-order promotion.  A free one goes to the gal who can guess closest to what it may be.

So…put your thinking caps on and comment away!

Some sort of interactive device that allows us to put our own body type online and then try specific clothes onto it…And, BOY, do I ever need that!!

  2. Kimberly Says:

It will be an application that simplifies the silhouettes of different styles of clothing so that an upside down triangle can look for the shape (square, triangle, etc) of clothing that works best with her shape. Love your blog!

  3. Meg Says:

I think you are planning to implement a virtual model that allows users to enter certain key measurements to create the model’s “shape”. Then we get to experiement with clothing of various types. Thus producing a preview of what works on what body. Ok, maybe this is more of a wish than a comment… you caught me!

  4. Jennifer Says:

    a book… I like to read - I’d love it!

  5. Sophia Says:

I think that it is some sort of software that allows program in dimensions of your body and find your body type. Then you can do a search for what type of clothes work for you depending on your skin tone and hair. Then use a search for finding what the best outfit for what occasions are and for certain looks or personality you are channeling on a virtual model. Then try on clothes from online stores and be able to put your own clothing in and try it on.

Well, I wish it was a mini-you. However, barring that, perhaps a website that based on your body type will dynamically seek out online shopping sites in search of your perfect wardrobe.

PS If you could add promotional codes or best pricing, that would be even better. :)

What is up with the text? The one who said it was a book was named Cate. Not Sophia! I’m Sophia! And my name is not Cate! Can you please fix this?

  8. Sophia Says:

Whoops! I looked at the wrong thing sorry for the mishap! I was reacting to fast.

Xtina says: I think not only will it be a book but it will include a CD that can be used in a computer that we can use to interact with not only your website to get up to date info but also put in our info as far as body type & other physical features plus personality type, what we are drawn to etc. so that we can find a style that matches both our personality (comfort zone) & help us to break out of that protective shell and try new things as well. It could also keep track of what pieces we have in our closets and what we need to acquire in our next shopping trip. Your website is fabulous!

Like others, I also think it would be some kind of software that lets people try your Wardrobe 911 creations “on” virtually to see how/if they work with each person’s body type. But since everyone has guessed something like this, I’ll have to add some other dimension to it. The “program” will analyze your angles/dimensions as well as the dimensions of the outfit, and spit out results like “not within magic dimension of total balance and proportion” if the outfit is not “right” for your body type. Somehow or other, it will help us develop our “artistic” eye for dressing ourselves according to the geometric and physical laws of the universe (ok, that is getting a little geeky but I am a scientist and I do obey the laws of thermodynamics).
